How to test the life of the gas spring?

The gas spring piston rod is vertically installed on the gas spring fatigue testing machine with connectors at both ends downward. The opening force and starting force are recorded in the first cycle of startup, and the secondary force and compression force FI, Fz, F3, F4 are recorded in the second cycle, and the nominal force, dynamic friction force, and elastic force ratio of the gas spring are calculated accordingly.

The rigidly locked gas spring shall be locked in the midspan state to detect its locking force. The measuring speed of the air spring life tester is 2mm/min, and the axial compression force required to generate 1mm displacement of the piston rod is the locking force.

Before testing the gas spring with elastic locking, it shall be cycled for three times under simulated working conditions, and then locked at the mid stroke. The measuring speed of the gas spring life tester is 8mm/min, and the axial compression force required to move the piston rod for 4mm is the locking force value.

Gas spring life test:

The air spring with high and low temperature storage performance is tested according to the test method, and then clamped on the air spring life testing machine. The testing machine operates the air spring cycle under simulated working conditions, with the cycle frequency of 10-16 times/min. The air spring cylinder temperature during the whole test process should not be greater than 50 ° C.

After every 10000 cycles, measure the energy per cycle according to the test method. After 30000 cycles, the measured results shall meet the following requirements.

A. Sealing performance - When the control valve of the gas spring is closed, the piston shall have good sealing performance to ensure that the piston rod can be locked at any position.

B. Cycle life- The air bomb that has passed the high and low temperature storage performance test shall be able to withstand 200,000 cycle life tests, and the attenuation of the nominal force after the test shall be less than 10%.
