Difference between gas spring and air spring

Gas spring is an elastic element with gas and liquid as the working medium. It is composed of pressure pipe, piston, piston rod and several connecting pieces. Its interior is filled with high-pressure nitrogen. Because there is a through hole in the piston, the gas pressures at both ends of the piston are equal, but the sectional areas at both sides of the piston are different. One end is connected to the piston rod while the other end is not. Under the effect of gas pressure, the pressure towards the side with small sectional area is generated, that is, the elasticity of the gas spring, The elastic force can be set by setting different nitrogen pressures or piston rods with different diameters. Different from mechanical spring, gas spring has nearly linear elastic curve. The elasticity coefficient X of standard gas spring is between 1.2 and 1.4, and other parameters can be flexibly defined according to requirements and working conditions.

When the rubber air spring works, the inner chamber is filled with compressed air to form a compressed air column. With the increase of vibration load, the height of the spring decreases, the volume of the inner chamber decreases, the stiffness of the spring increases, and the effective bearing area of the air column in the inner chamber increases. At this time, the bearing capacity of the spring increases. When the vibration load decreases, the height of the spring increases, the volume of the inner chamber increases, the stiffness of the spring decreases, and the effective bearing area of the air column in the inner chamber decreases. At this time, the bearing capacity of the spring decreases. In this way, in the effective stroke of the air spring, the height, inner cavity volume and bearing capacity of the air spring have smooth flexible transmission with the increase and decrease of the vibration load, and the amplitude and vibration load have been effectively controlled. The stiffness and bearing capacity of the spring can also be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the air charge, and the auxiliary air chamber can also be attached to achieve automatic adjustment.
